April 9th - Dog Tales!!!

Join us at 1:15pm to read a story (a favorite book from home or choose something from the library collection) to Rosie, Hershey, Maggie and/or Bear.  These special pooches are certified therapy dogs and they just LOVE listening to kids read!!!

 Did you know that studies have shown that reading to a therapy dog can increase self-esteem and improve reading literacy skills?!?!  The benefits of children reading to dogs was the topic of a Today Show presentation in February 2007 and again in March 2009.  You can watch a video of the March segment by clicking on the link below.
